Cold Steel Frontier Hawk Tomahawk
Cold Steel Frontier Hawk Tomahawk
BRCSB90FH
These superb tomahawks are precision forged from 1055 carbon steel. Forging is without a doubt the best method for manufacturing any striking weapon, especially one with a cutting edge. During the forging process, the metal billet is heated almost white-hot and then shaped in a series of progressive dies. The large steel dies are mounted to huge compressed-air hammers. Each die hammers the hot metal into an increasingly finished form. The steel is blended and compressed into a completely homogeneous mass, making the grain structure uniform and minimizing gas pockets or other imperfections that could compromise the construction of a hand-forged tomahawk. That is why most good axes and hammer-polls are forged.
The Frontier Hawk is heat treated, which means that the cutting edge and the hammer poll are fully hardened, while the rest is left relatively soft to absorb the force of impacts.
