The Benchmade Griptilian 550 S30V is a practical EDC pocket knife designed by Mel Pardue. Since its very first version many years ago, the Benchmade Griptilian has clearly become a classic in the knife world. Its ergonomic handle, perfect for both left- and right-handed users, combined with various opening mechanisms and blade shapes, has made the Griptilian a legend in the world of pocket knives.

This Benchmade 550 Griptilian features a plain sheepsfoot blade. It opens with the thumb hole and is then locked by Benchmade’s famous Axis-Lock. The handle is made from Valox. This is a brand name for a specific type of FRN (glass-reinforced nylon) that feels great in hand, is tough, and does not weigh too much. In 2019, Benchmade decided to upgrade from 154CM steel to CPM S30V steel, making the Griptilian even better. CPM S30V is one of the few steel types developed specifically for knives. It holds its edge well and is highly corrosion resistant.
