Extrema Ratio Arditi Black
Extrema Ratio Arditi Black
ER04.1000.0220/BLK
Limited edition of 1918 pieces with serial numbers.
A special situation that emerged in the early years of the First World War confronted soldiers with increasingly complex close-quarters conditions. These situations required the formation of units that, over time, would distinguish themselves in hand-to-hand combat. Our assault troops, the „Arditi“, had their own knife. They made these knives by cutting down the tips of their long-bladed 1870 „Vetterli“ bayonets, which had previously proved problematic because of their excessive and unwieldy length. Today, on the occasion of its centenary, we commemorate this important part of Italian military history with a celebratory version limited to just 1918 pieces. This version comes with a black blade and a black Cordura sheath. If you would like additional history and background on this unique knife, you can find more in the book „Storia dell'arma bianca italiana“ by Cesare Calamandrei ISBN 978-88-253-0199-1
