Updated for 2023, the Scarab II retains the size and styling characteristics of its predecessor while setting a new standard for OTF technology. At first glance, the 2023 Scarab II resembles the previous generation. The classic traction inlay aesthetic and the chassis Torx screw design, along with the familiar glass breaker and pocket clip, bring back one of our favorite OTF styles. The internals, however, place the 2023 Scarab II in a class of its own. Microtech’s revolutionary double-action drive system not only enables effortless deployment, but the dual-spring design drives the blade forward with enough force that deploying the knife underwater does not slow the action. The updated design reduces friction and helps displace debris, reducing the need for frequent maintenance and cleaning.
