Gransfors Bruks axe handles are designed by Hans Erik Persson.
The handle features an ergonomic design that provides a secure and comfortable grip. Most of them are made from Hickory wood, which is strong and flexible. Some models are made from copper beech. The shafts are impregnated with hot linseed oil and beeswax, which improves their quality.
All handles, except for the Small Hatchet and Outdoor Axe, are supplied together with a wooden wedge and a three-sided iron wedge.
The Small Hatchet and Outdoor Axe are supplied only with a wooden wedge, as these handles have a high risk of cracking if an iron wedge is driven in.
