Benchmade Griptilian 551 S30V is a practical EDC pocket knife designed by Mel Pardue. Since its very first version many years ago, the Benchmade Griptilian has definitely become a classic in the knife world. Its ergonomic handle, perfect for both left- and right-handed use, combined with different opening mechanisms and blade shapes, has made the Griptilian a legend in the world of pocket knives.

This Benchmade 551 Griptilian features a Drop Point blade. It opens with an ambidextrous thumb stud and then locks with Benchmade’s famous Axis Lock. The handle is made of Valox. This is a brand name for a specific type of FRN (glass-reinforced nylon) that feels great in hand, is durable, and does not weigh too much. In 2019, Benchmade decided to upgrade from 154CM steel to CPM S30V steel, making the Griptilian even better. CPM S30V is one of the few steels specifically developed for knives. It retains its edge well and is highly corrosion resistant.
