Casstrom No.10 SFK (Swedish Forest knife), Karelian curly birch, Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel

This excellent knife was created as a multi-purpose knife for hunting, bushcraft, and general outdoor use. Its name says it all – Swedish Forest Knife.

Here at Casström, the No10 SFK is the first knife we designed and made, and it holds a special place in our hearts. Even more satisfying is knowing that those who own and use it are just as attached to it! From the elegant and ergonomically designed handle in Karelian birch to the sturdy and versatile blade, this is a knife that can skin a moose or split wood equally well. At Casström, we take pride in our attention to detail. Our knives have the quality of a custom knife, but at a production price.

The blade is 10 cm long, made from Swedish 14C28N stainless steel with a thickness of 3.8 mm, and heat treated to achieve a hardness of 57-59 HRC. The knife features a shaving-sharp Scandi grind and has a satin finish. This steel, combined with the grind, makes the knife very robust yet still easy to sharpen, which is a great advantage. The handle is made of Karelian curly birch. There are black liners between the handle scales and the steel to improve durability over time. The wood has been treated with a traditional Scandinavian linseed oil-based finish. The knife comes with a sturdy 3 mm leather sheath featuring an extra-wide belt loop, a drain hole, and a lanyard rivet.

ABOUT THE STEEL: Sandvik 14C28N steel is the latest development in the Sandvik range of knife steels. The optimized chemical composition provides a high-quality knife steel with a unique combination of excellent edge properties - edge retention, high hardness, and good corrosion resistance. This new grade allows for better hardness and wear resistance than previous grades without affecting the microstructure.

Описанието отговаря, но очаквах по-голям размер. Иначе е ОК.
