During a research trip in Argentina, Cold Steel president Lynn Thompson had the pleasure of using a solid steel hunting knife from French knifemaker Michel Achez.

He was incredibly impressed by Monsieur Achez's knife, which was both simple in design and remarkably functional.

Inspired by Michel's work (and with his blessing), Lynn began exploring how to introduce this classic hunting knife to a wider audience and also expand the design into other platforms.

The Drop Forged Boot Knife is expertly heat treated and forged from 52100 high carbon steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-59 for superior strength. Its double-edged blade is both sharp and durable, designed to perform exceptionally well even under the most demanding conditions.

With no handle to break and no unnecessary parts to rot, crack, or get damaged, the Drop Forged Boot Knife is your no-nonsense knife for heavy-duty use.

Its ergonomic handle, with an integral finger guard, deep comfortable groove, and lanyard hole, offers a very secure and comfortable grip, even when wearing thick leather gloves.
