Spyderco Sharpmaker is a practical system for sharpening and maintaining your knives. The device is especially suitable for knives that are still in good condition.

Spyderco Sharpmaker uses high-quality ceramic rods that are very close to diamond in hardness, ensuring that even the hardest types of steel are no problem. Sharpmaker is recommended by several leading knife manufacturers, as well as by many enthusiastic users. Sharpmaker is a product that is known with certainty to always work.

This sharpening system comes with a total of four ceramic sharpening rods with a triangular cross-section:
- two gray medium-abrasive rods 
- two white fine rods.

These rods can be inserted into the plastic base in different ways, so the device itself maintains the correct angle during the sharpening process. All you need to do is move the knife vertically along the sharpening rods to ensure that the entire edge comes into contact with them. The results are always the same: the knives will become razor sharp in no time.

This also applies to scissors, chisels and razors; Sharpmaker knows what to do with them as well. Thanks to the flexibility in how the sharpening rods can be used, you can also (after some practice) use them individually for more difficult sharpening tasks.

Sharpmaker comes with a clear photo manual, as well as an instructional DVD on which inventor Sal Glesser clearly explains how the sharpening system works. The running time of this DVD is approximately 20 minutes.
