This 4Season system offers advantages when you find yourself in colder weather than expected, as it can be adjusted to a wide range of temperature conditions without adding weight or bulk. 
With just the oversized foam pad, most people feel comfortable down to about 4 C. Adding the thermal foil under the pad should take you below freezing. The thermal foil can be placed above or below the pad depending on the temperature, humidity, and what works best for you.
 The pad can be packed into the compression sack when not needed or left at home. If it is a relatively warm night, you may want to keep the pad in the compression sack and let the air space between the two layers keep you cozy.
In addition, we have included a compression sack with an 18 cm diameter. This allows the hammock and the 100 cm wide insulating pad to be folded in half lengthwise, rolled up, and easily slipped into the compression sack, pressed down, and closed with the drawcord. Finally, the cap is pulled over the top of the compression sack and the straps are tightened to about 40 cm in length.
Please note: The 4Season hammock uses a different storage system. The hammock/foam pad must be stored in the compression sack, while the tarp must be stored in the SnakeSkins. This ensures that your hammock and pad are always dry, while the wet tarp is stored in the SnakeSkins on the outside of your backpack. When you reach camp, set up the tarp in the rain first, then move underneath it to set up the hammock in the dry.
What is included in the set:
All Hennessy hammocks come complete with an attached mosquito net, rainfly, support ropes, and a stuff sack with setup instructions on the back. Hennessy Hammock also provides free standard 107 cm Tree Hugger straps to protect tree bark. Since these accessory straps are free, they are not included in the hammock weight.
The 4Season Explorer Zip XL also includes an oversized 91 cm wide foam pad and a heat-reflective foil blanket.
Attention!!! The SnakeSkins system accessory, a sheath/cover for quick, convenient, and clean packing, unfolding, and storage of any Hennessy hammock, is NOT included in the set and is purchased separately!!!
