The most authentic modern replica of the U.S. Navy cutlass adopted in 1917 to replace the old 1860 model, which had remained in service for a full 57 years.
The 1917 Cold Steel Cutlass features a distinctive 25-inch curved blade and a stamped high-carbon steel guard. Both the blade and the guard are blued for rust resistance. The handle is made of carefully shaped hardwood, painted brown and secured to the tang with 3 heavy brass rivets.
The scabbard is an exact reproduction of the original and is made from high-quality leather, designed to be worn on the side of a pistol belt so it does not get in the way.
