In the outdoors, you can come across all kinds of water sources from which you can obtain water - from clear, fast-flowing mountain streams and rivers to very muddy marshy pools and silty puddles. That is why you need a water filter for all conditions. The Katadyn Vario can be adjusted depending on whether the water is clear or turbid. The filter eliminates bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae, spores, and sediment. It reduces chemicals and improves taste and odor thanks to a replaceable activated carbon granulate. Katadyn Vario uses a cleanable ceramic pre-filter and a Glassfiber filter (glass fiber membrane) for microbiological filtration with minimal pumping effort. In the "LONGER LIFE" mode, murky water is first filtered through the ceramic disc and delivers a flow rate of about 1L / min. In the "FASTER FLOW" mode, the water is directed straight to the glass fiber membrane, increasing the water flow to 2L / min. The dual-piston mechanism ensures a continuous flow of water with minimal effort, and the rubber base fits directly onto wide-mouth Nalgene-type bottles.
The capacity is up to 2,000 liters, depending on water quality.
Replacement filters are sold separately.
