Created from an idea by Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser, the Edgerati model channels his deep interest in high-performance sports cars into a remarkable knife design. Its perforated, geometric handle is inspired by the chassis of Maserati’s legendary “birdcage,” which revolutionized sports car design. True to that spirit, the Edgerati’s handle is precision-machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum with a hard-anodized finish, creating an exceptional combination of strength, light weight, non-slip texture, and dramatic style. The construction also provides visibility of the streamlined Compression Lock mechanism, which consists of a stainless steel lock bar embedded in a specially machined recess on the front side of the handle. The blade features a straight spine and a full-flat grind, and is made from CPM-S30V powder metallurgy stainless steel. The model is offered in both a PlainEdge and a serrated SpyderEdge version, and also features a textured index-finger choil that allows a forward grip for better control. Edgerati’s wide pocket clip is reversible for left- or right-side tip-up carry. It perfectly complements the fully accessible patented Trademark Round Hole, ensuring fast, secure one-handed opening with either hand. This specific Edgerati version emphasizes its refined design even further with a stunning all-black theme. Its blade is concealed beneath a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, while the handle has a matching hard-anodized black finish. In the same style, the lock bar, pocket clip, and all other handle hardware also feature an appropriate matte black finish.
