Optimized for environments where light discipline is critical, the all-black Sage 5 Salt features a full-flat-ground blade made from CPM-MagnaCut steel. This advanced powder metallurgy stainless steel delivers exceptional edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The blade is concealed beneath a non-reflective titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating and is paired with an open-back handle. It is built with nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners, a high-strength Compression Lock mechanism, and G10 scales. The scales combine a peel-ply texture with Spyderco’s precision-machined Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture, ensuring an exceptionally secure grip even with wet hands. To provide discreet carry while keeping the knife ready for immediate access, the model includes a deep-pocket wire clip that can be configured for tip-up carry on either side of the handle. In keeping with its low-profile design, the liners, pocket clip, and all hardware on this elite Sage 5 Salt feature durable black coatings.
