It is made from CPM-MagnaCut – a revolutionary powder steel that offers a remarkable balance of edge retention, toughness, and extreme corrosion resistance. It includes the fully accessible Trademark Round Hole for quick one-handed opening with either hand, which also serves as a proud symbol of the knife's Spyderco heritage. When opened, the blade locks securely with a high-strength Ball Bearing Lock mechanism. It is housed in a handle with full, lightweight (skeletonized) stainless steel liners and G10 scales. To ensure a secure grip even with wet hands, the scales feature the intricate, machined Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture. This high-traction pattern also reveals its alternating black and yellow layers to improve the knife's visibility in and around the water.
