The Japanese word "tachi" in a martial sense refers to a series of upright stances in karate. The Cold Steel Tachi Katana features an elegant, convex-ground Damascus steel blade, hardened using the traditional clay tempering technique to create the unique Japanese Hamon. It has a brass Tsuba and fittings attractively accented with black lacquer. Like the other Japanese-style swords, it has a traditional hardwood handle with a black silk cord wrap, Samé inlay, and an attractive Menuki. It comes complete with a terracotta-colored lacquered hardwood scabbard that includes brass decorative elements.
